This is the official website of romantic-suspense author Sidney Bell. Loose Cannon, the first book in my Woodbury Boys trilogy, is on sale now in paperback and ebook from Carina Press. The sequel, Hard Line, will be out on April 2, 2018!

There's more information about Loose Cannon and my other work under the "Read" tab, and you can peek through my blog. I'll be updating frequently as the release date gets closer, so stay tuned for more info. If you have a comment or a question, or if you're concerned about potential triggers in any of my books, please feel free to email me at

Loose Cannon is Available Now!

Released after five years in the system for assault, streetwise Edgar-Allen Church is ready to leave the past behind and finally look to his future. In need of a place to crash, he's leaning on Miller Quinn. A patient, solidly masculine pillar of strength and support, Miller has always been there for him—except in the one way Church has wanted the most...

11/25/17-Hard Line Excerpt and Blurb Available!

Premed student Tobias Benton is making amends for his past. He keeps his head down, mouth shut and colors within the lines. But when his close friend Ghost goes missing, Tobias will do whatever it takes to get answers--including using blackmail to enlist some help. The last thing he's looking for is romance.

Private investigator Sullivan Tate isn't above a little breaking and entering to solve a case, but when Tobias catches him in the act, it's almost game over. Their uneasy alliance only gets more complicated when Sullivan learns that Tobias shares his interest in kink. Mixing sex and work could kill Sullivan's career, but Tobias's acceptance of Sullivan's darkest urges is nearly impossible to resist.

Side by side, Tobias and Sullivan spend their days searching for the truth and their nights fulfilling their respective fantasies. But the answers they seek are far more dangerous than they realize, and soon they find themselves fighting for more than just each other.

11/1/17-Original Flash Fiction Release: The Mermaid Game

Boy Meets Boy Reviews is turning four-years-old and they asked me to write a short piece of original flash fiction for the site to celebrate! They sent me a lovely, sexy photo of two hot guys canoodling in a tub as a prompt, and trust me, I was inspired. Go here to read the story and see the pic that started the whole thing rolling. They'll have content from other prominent m/m authors and tons of giveaways (I'm giving away two paperbacks of Loose Cannon!) so take a look for lots of new fiction!

9/14/17-Hard Line Release Date Announced

Hard Line, Tobias's book, and the second in my Woodbury Boys trilogy, will be out on April 2, 2018! Later announcements, like the cover and a blurb, will be released on my newsletter first, so sign up if you haven't yet! (Hint--scroll down to the bottom of this page for that handy sign-up box.)

4/7/17-Music for the Journey

To celebrate the release of the new book, I made up a playlist of songs that I used during the writing of Loose Cannon. Each song comes with a brief explanation of how it fit in my writing process or represented the characters in some way. It's posted at my publisher's blog and you can check it out here.

4/2/17-Guest Post at The Novel Approach

I love this website--they write such thoughtful reviews. And I've been lucky enough to get the opportunity to write a guest post for their blog. It's a little bit about Loose Cannon and a little about a very awkward meal at a conference. Read it here if you like!

2/16/17-Loose Cannon Available as Paperback and Ebook

For those who prefer hard copies, I'm happy to announce that you'll be able to buy Loose Cannon in paperback from and starting April 4th. The book will still be available as an ebook from all major retailers. Go here to the Loose Cannon page to pre-order.
